This month, we introduce one of the founders of Vital Hike - Chris. Some of Chris's passions in life include his family, Scotland & Co-Op Cookies.

Name:

Chris Dunkerley

Job Title:

Director/Office Lackey

Myers-briggs Personality Type:

ENFP - Extraverted (E), Intuitive (N), Feeling (F) and Perceiving (P)

What does that mean?

It means I am empathetic, fun, affectionate, spontaneous, wild and possess a great zest for life. I also think it means I am good at reading other people’s emotions and feelings. I dislike confrontation and conforming to a predetermined set of rules. I like to challenge the status quo. I get bored easily.

Typically, what does your role entail?

Day-to-day, I advise and support all members of our team with a variety of challenges, but I am mainly responsible for the Vital Hike customer journey. I will be the first face that a client will see (sadly for them), I will introduce the company and then stay in touch to ensure they are getting the service that we strive for. Relationships are crucial and we must make sure it’s a fit for both parties before we embark upon a digital partnership with a client.

Favourite thing about your job?

The people I work with. I am very lucky to work with some truly awesome human beings and having their support makes the challenging times much easier to handle. Not sure the feeling is mutual though! 😊

I also get a real kick out of helping my clients free up their time, so they can have more choice over what they do.

What do you do in your spare time?

I like to stay in good shape, so I find going out for a run or to the gym is a great way for me to unwind and get my head back in the game. I love climbing Munros. I like to read fantasy fiction – and be taken away to another world - anything from JRR Tolkien will tick the box. I am also a clandestine ornithologist but keep that to yourself.

Which 3 people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?

JRR Tolkien, Nelson Mandela, David Attenborough

If you had to pick a theme tune for yourself, what would it be?

It’s too hard to pick one, but here’s a few contenders…

& Finally, you walk into a bar, what drink do you order?

I am a social drinker and like to share the experience with others, so it would probably depend on the company. However, if I was on my own, I would likely choose a Trade Winds (Cairngorm Brewery in Aviemore).
